Margaret (Margee) Louise Keller, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on November 13th, 2025 at home in
Pompton Plains, NJ with both of her daughters by her side.
Margee exemplified resilience, independence, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, and remembered for her warm smile, witty humor, and her patient, gracious spirit. Her greatest gift was her ability to make people feel loved, heard, and cared for, and she did that across all aspects of her life. She often expressed the joy that she felt about her Lord and Savior, as her Christian faith was a very important part of her life. Her legacy of love, kindness, and steadfast faith will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Born and raised in Stow, Ohio, Margee was the eldest of six children of Cale and Fay Coulter. She later built a vibrant life with her own family in Bethesda, Maryland, where she lovingly raised her two daughters. During those years, she devoted her energy and love to her family and her community, where she was a respected Girl Scout leader, a dedicated school volunteer, and the creative force behind her own floral arrangement business. Many summer weekends were spent sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, a family hobby she embraced and enjoyed. While in Bethesda, she formed deep and lasting friendships, including many from her cherished church family at Fourth Presbyterian Church.
Margee later returned to her roots in Stow, where she reconnected with family and friends and became an active member of Christ Community Chapel. She eventually settled in
Pompton Plains, NJ to be closer to her grandchildren. There, she quickly became a familiar and friendly presence in her retirement community, often seen cruising around with her beloved rescue dog Murphy happily nestled in her lap. Margee was an incredible mom, from her girls' early childhood when she always had fun craft activities and surprises for them, through their adult years where she was always there to lend an ear, spiritual guidance, and great advice. She also was a wonderful grandmother, reading many stories and giving lots of cuddles to her grandbabies when they were small, and fun dinners and great talks when they got older. Her grandkids lovingly called her "Grammy" or "Gramcracker".
Margee is survived by her daughters Christie Loftus of Chatham, NJ; Amy Keller of Carlsbad, CA; her cherished grandchildren Ryan and Maddie Loftus; Amy's partner Larry Renac; and her siblings Theresa Kaczay and her husband Ken; Daniel Coulter and his wife Kim; Ellen Coulter, and John Coulter. She is preceded in death by her parents Cale and Fay Coulter, and her brother Jimmy Coulter.
Memorial service details will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local animal shelter.
