Margaret Kay (Boothby) Lewis, 60, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 15, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She departed this earthly life, surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born in Decatur on September 5, 1963, the daughter of (the late) Hershel F. Boothby and Martha E. (Springer) Boothby. She confessed her faith in Christ at the early age of 14 and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. Margaret graduated from Wayne High School with the Class of '82 and had retired from hospitality with the Mariott Hotels.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by her beloved oldest sister, Sherry (Springer) Brown and her brother James "Little Jimmie" Boothby.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, David Elijah Lewis; brother-in-law, James Ricardo Lewis; daughter, Keisha Boothby, and son, Kevin Boothby, all of Fort Wayne; her grandchildren, Devon Boothby (his grandmother's care-giver), and Javeren Morris, Jashaun Morris, Zavion Boothby, Ke'Ayshia Boothby and Re'Mya Phillips, all of Fort Wayne; her brothers, John (Denise) Springer, Hershel (Susan) Boothby, Terry (Tammy) Boothby and Joseph (Cassandra) Boothby, all of Decatur; sisters, Teresa (Steven) Novion of Waco TX, and Emma (Anthony) Ohler & Diana Boothby, both of Decatur. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services 3:00pm Tuesday June 25, 2024, at Divine Mercy Lake Avenue Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Visitation is 2:00-3:00pm Tuesday in the funeral home. To share a remembrance of Margaret or to offer condolences to her family, please visit www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com.
