Margaret June Lindsay

Margaret June Lindsay, 98, of Newman went peacefully to be with Jesus on October 22, 2022, at home, surrounded by loving family. She was born on June 10, 1924, in Dalton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ivan and Anna (Lehman) Gerber. Margaret graduated from Dalton High School and worked at Ohio Edison in Massillon. She left work after she married Richard Lindsay and moved to Newman where she raised her 3 children. She was a member of Salem Mennonite Church, Newman Baptist Church, and The Chapel of the Cross in North Lawrence. She got to share her friendship with others and her faith in God with a gentle spirit throughout her life. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and vegetable garden. She also enjoyed showing and embroidering and spending time with her family. Growing up on a farm in Dalton with her 4 brothers and 1 sister gave her an appreciation of the simple but rewarding things in life that she never outgrew.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lindsay, son Thomas Lindsay, brothers, Clinton Gerber, Byron Gerber, Clark Gerber, and her sister Hazel Slutz.
She is survived by her children, David Lindsay, and Ann (Robert) Kiggans and her brother, Wallace Gerber and many loving friends, neighbors, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home (1100 Wales Road NE Massillon, OH 44646) on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 10-11 a.m. at Newman Baptist Church (11155 Orrville St. NW, Massillon, OH 44647) with the service starting at 11:00.
