Early on the morning of September 29, 2025, Margaret left us peacefully to be with our Lord. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother-- while being a faithful servant of God whose warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Margaret was born on May 2, 1938, to the late Elmore Bachemin Sr. and Mary Jackson. On October 1, 1960, Margaret married the love of her life, Tom McDonald, beginning a lifelong union that spanned 65 years. Together, they built a life founded on love, faith, and unwavering commitment to their family. Margaret was a loving mother to three daughters: the late Irmelda Bradley, Lisa Thompson (widow of Fred Thompson), and Donna Wicker (married to John Wicker). She was the beloved sister of Elmore Bachemin Jr. (married to Madeline Bachemin), cousin of Stephonia Thompson, and Godmother to Monique Yerks. Her Legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Anthony Bradley Jr., Saysha McDonald, Meryl McDonald, Angelo Bradley, Mia McDonald, Julius Thompson, and Jasmine Bachemin, as well as nine great-grandchildren: Cayden Miller, Hudson Holmes, Blaze Thompson, Riley Thompson, Noah Welcome, Pierre Castel, Aliyah Queen, Jaden Thompson, and Kyo Thomas. Margaret was a hardworking woman known for her strong work ethic and generous spirit. She approached every task with dedication and grace and never shied away from an adventure. She was a faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, where her devotion to God and service to others were evident to all who worshipped alongside her. Margaret's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. Her gentle spirit, nurturing heart, and unwavering strength will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was also a member of the 55 and up Running Club at her church, where she performed community service and traveled with the group. While we mourn her passing, we celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 1:00pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00p until 1:00pm. Internment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, Louisiana. Arrangements entrusted to D.W.
