Margaret "Margi" Cochran Oschwald, beloved artist and cherished family member, passed away on October 31, 2025, in Bellville, Texas. Born on August 30, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Jay LeRoy Schoble and Helen Shants.

Margaret led a life rich in creativity and accomplishment. She received her education at Springside School in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania, followed by Briarcliff Junior College from 1943 to 1945. She pursued her artistic aspirations at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art from 1946 to 1948. Known professionally as Margi Cochran, she established herself as a talented oil painter, earning numerous awards and international recognition for her stunning works. Her art is housed in private collections not only across the United States but also internationally, a testament to her significant impact on the art world. Margaret's artistry was highlighted by her membership in the Royal Miniature Society and Miniature Artists of America, and she was honored to be featured in Who's Who in Art-British. Notably, two of her paintings were prominently displayed as part of the American Exhibit at the 1998 Olympic Games held in Nagano, Japan.

Throughout her life, Margaret cultivated passionate interests that reflected her vibrant spirit. She enjoyed photography in relation to her painting career, played tennis, and found joy in walking.

In her personal life, Margaret experienced the joys of marriage twice. She married her first husband, Joseph Allison Cochran, in 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and together they had two children. Later in life, she found love again and married Arthur Henry Oschwald, Jr., in 1976 in Bernardsville, New Jersey.

Margaret leaves behind her loving family, including her daughter, Margaretta (Mark) Sleeper of Sealy, Texas, and her son, William Allison Cochran of Winnebago, Illinois. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth Margaret (Luke) Edwards of Pecatonica, Illinois, and Andrew Allison Cochran of Winnebago, Illinois. Additionally, she is survived by her step-daughters, Wendy Oschwald Barbellion of Nancay, France, and Diane Oschwald Meissirel-Marquot of Paris, France.
