Margaret Rose Parker

Margaret Rose (Weber) Parker of Downers Grove, formerly of Western Springs, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving family. Born September 27, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, Margaret was the beloved daughter of Rosina (Bozza) and Henry Weber and sister of Marie (Weber) Nowlan.

Margaret was the loving wife of the late Donald James Parker. She is survived by her five children: Peggy (Robert) Bower, Don (Kim) Parker, Tom (Jeane) Parker, Susan (Scott) O'Connell, Liz (Doug) Henry. Margaret was the proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who hold a special fondness for her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and joy in all of her family.

Being a mother and grandmother was one of Margaret's greatest joys. She was present for every event, no matter how big or small, to celebrate each child's milestones with unconditional love and enthusiasm. Margaret was a wonderful cook, and she delighted in putting on a spread of delicious food for family and friends.

Margaret was a longtime resident of Western Springs and a founding member of St. John of the Cross Parish, where she served as School Board President. She loved to play bridge and never turned down an opportunity to learn new card games. An accomplished travel agent, Margaret traveled extensively and helped many happy clients experience the trip of their lifetime.

Margaret leaves behind a family who cherished her deeply and who will always remember her unwavering love and devotion.

The family extends its gratitude to the staff at Oak Trace who went above and beyond caring for her.

Visitation 10am until time of Funeral Mass, 11am, on Saturday, November 15th at St. John of the Cross Parish, 5005 Wolf Rd., Western Springs. Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
