Margaret M. Reitman, 94, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 9:00 pm, Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at her home.
She was born November 26, 1930 at home in rural Little York, IL, the daughter of Ira and Ethel (Poulson) Blackman. Margaret was raised and educated in Little York, IL and graduated from Little York High School in 1948.
Margaret married William G. Reitman on June 22, 1949 in Burlington, IA, and he passed away June 2, 2018.
She worked at the Warren County Home. Margaret was a homemaker, taking care of her family and children while also assisting Bill in the family farm operation. She was an excellent cook and was known for her mashed potatoes. She was always willing and able to lend a helping hand.
She was a member of the Sugar Tree Grove Church and also attended the First Christian Church in Monmouth.
She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, gardening, and making quilts.
Surviving Margaret are her children, Sheryl Perrin of Monmouth, Gerald (Kaye) Reitman of Cameron, IL, Carolyn (Tom) McKillip of Gilson, IL, five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great-grandson, Christopher Fritz; and 2 brothers.
Cremation rites have been accorded. No services or visitation is planned at this time. A private family interment will take place at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth at a later date.
