Marie "Misty" Reitman

Marie "Misty" (Hayes) Reitman passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Misty was born on November 16, 1939, in Philadelphia to the late Edmund Hayes and the late Mary (Sewastynawicz) Hayes. She was the beloved wife of the late Gary Reitman; they were married for 35 wonderful years. Misty is survived by her daughter, Heather (Reitman) Martin and son-in-law Robert Martin; her grandson, Gary Martin; her sister, Eleanor Marshall; her brother Victor Hayes and sister-in-law, Dee Hayes; her brother-in-law Steve Reitman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Misty was raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Hallahan High School. She worked for the Philadelphia Jury Commission for 30 years. There, she helped jurors navigate their way through their time on jury duty. She loved her work and was excellent at her job.
Misty was a wonderful and loving mother. She was always there for Heather and Rob and considered Rob not just an in-law but a son. When Heather was younger, Misty was forever ready to help her daughter as well as her many nieces, nephews, and her daughter's friends with anything they needed or to drive a carload of kids anywhere they wanted to go. But her greatest joy came later when she became a grandmom. She adored her grandson, Gary, and she was truly the best Nana in the world. She never missed a game, track meet, or school event but most days she just liked spending as much time with him as possible. There was no limit to the love she had to give.
Misty's family is heartbroken and will miss her greatly each and every day. Family and friends are invited to Misty's Life Celebration on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 12:00 P.M., with the Memorial Service beginning at 12:30 P.M. It will be held at Brookside Manor, 50 Bustleton Pike, Feasterville, PA 19053.
