Margaret A. Rumpf (Formerly of Carteret)

Margaret A. (Koropcsak) Rumpf (Marge), 93, of Greentown, Pennsylvania and formerly of Carteret, New Jersey, died peacefully at home after a brief illness. She was born in Crosswicks, New Jersey on her grandparents dairy farm, grew up in Fords and resided in Carteret for 65 years before moving to her home in Greentown a few years ago. Marge was a 1950 graduate of Woodbridge High School, where she met and eventually married "her prince" Earl G. Rumpf, Jr. She was a buyer and manager of the Shirley Spiegel dress shop in Perth Amboy for 20 years.

Marge helped Earl establish the Rumpf Funeral Home in Carteret in 1958 and after Earl's passing, maintained ownership until its closure in 2022. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, was a founding member of the Carteret Women's Club, and a founding member and president of the Carteret Chapter of Deborah Hospital. Marge enjoyed restoring and renovating her 200-year-old stone house in Greentown where she was presented with an award from the Greene Drehrer Historical Society for its preservation. She enjoyed antiquing and gardening and was an avid world traveler, especially enjoying trips to Machu Pichu, climbing the Great Wall in China, trips on the Amazon and Nile rivers and visiting the Holy Land several times.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 29 years. Earl G. Rumpf, Jr. in 1984 and her son, David Scott Rumpf in 2019. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Gail A. Young and her husband, Robert J. Young, of Greentown, PA.

Also survived by her grandchildren, Gary Rumpf, Jr. and Jayna (Rumpf) Stracensky and her husband, Brian; along with her great grandchildren, Gunnar Rumpf and Madelyn and Kyle Stracensky.
