Marianne Straley, beloved mother, grandmother ("BooBoo"), sister, aunt, and friend, died at her home on October 30, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born on April 12, 1962, to Philomena (née Iaconetti) and George Straley, Marianne was raised in Carteret, New Jersey. She moved to Iselin in 1988 with her sister Janet (Dan) and their daughter Anna, after her first child, Pamela, was born.
Marianne began her career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, where she quickly became known for her dedication and professionalism. In 2014, she joined WISS & Co., an accounting firm in New York City, where she built a meaningful career as a word processor. Her colleagues admired her not only for her skill and hard work, but also for her kindness, warmth, and generosity of spirit.
Marianne found joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. She loved spending time at the beach, baking with her grandchildren, and trying out new recipes to share with her family. Shopping trips and endless video calls with her grandchildren filled her days with laughter and love. Ever patient and nurturing, she delighted in teaching them new skills and watching them grow.
She especially loved family holidays and cherished afternoons spent by the pool at her brother's house. In recent years, Marianne discovered a new passion for caring for plants, finding peace and satisfaction in nurturing her growing collection. She also enjoyed trips to the park, always choosing to walk wherever she could-with her loyal companion Bouk by her side.
Marianne was a lady of grace who was thoughtful and intentional in her actions. She took pride in creating a space for her interests and she was hands on with her interior decor, she especially loved Christmas. She looked forward to being able to express her creativity in the beautiful outfits she wore. She took a basic look and brought her Marianne style and inspiration to bring these iconic looks alive. If you have ever received a gift from Marianne you know that there was countless time, meaning and effort from her behalf to create a personal gift for those she loved.
Although her life was tragically cut short, Marianne's love and spirit will continue to shine through her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Those who loved her take comfort in knowing she will forever be watching over them, guiding and protecting them always.
Marianne was predeceased by her parents, Philomena and George Straley, and her brother George.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her three loving children: Pamela (Jonathan), Antonio (Neftalie), and Dominic (Jalila); and her cherished grandchildren: Christian, Nyaila, Amir, Amina, Eliaz, Isabella, Eli, Jahaysia, and soon-to-arrive Isaac. She also leaves behind her beloved "furry grandchild," Bouk, who brought her endless joy and companionship. Marianne will also be deeply missed by her siblings; Carol (Jimmy), Bobby (Pam), Janet (Dan), Arthur (Linda) John (Kathy) Eric (Cathleen) nieces, nephews, extended relatives and her best friends; Nancy, Liz, Debbie, and Laura.
Marianne will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
