Margaret A. Schreckengost, 84, of Parkersburg, went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born June 20, 1940, a daughter to the late Denver G and Elah M. Warren Craddock.
She is a 1958 graduate from Spencer High School. She retired from St. Joseph's Hospital where she worked in the linen room, housekeeping, and answering phones. She was a long-time, faithful member of Spreading Truth Ministries, where she was a greeter. After retirement, she volunteered her time as an aide and monitor at Parkersburg Christian School. She was a devoted supporter of St. Jude Children's Hospital. She loved sending cards to everyone, and enjoyed watching the Game Show Network.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Donald (Carla) and Tommy Schreckengost; her grandchildren, DJ Schreckengost (Tara), Adam Schreckengost (Loren), and Alexander Schreckengost (Nevada); great-grandchildren, Adriane, Steele, Jade, Cannon, Jamie, Miles, Sullivan, and Marshal; her brother, Jimmy Craddock (Kathy); and sister, Loretta Goodson (Bob).
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald O. Schreckengost, of 53 years; and siblings, Ewel Craddock, Eugene Craddock, Clifford Craddock, Mary Harbison, Niela Cunningham, Pearl Boggs, and Judy Carpenter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Septemeber 3, 2024, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Ralph Tisdale officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Family will accept visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from Noon until the time of the service.
