Raymond E. Huffman, 72 of Parkersburg, WV, passed away at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark, Ohio, on October 13th 2025.
He was born on September 8,1953, the only child of Donna Cornell Crites and Gerald Huffman; his maternal grandparents raised him. He is survived by two aunts and several cousins, and two close friends, Stan and Patti Golden.
He graduated from Parkersburg High School and was employed by the Sheltered Workshop, Hardee's, and Olive Garden. He participated in Special Olympics, Camp Echo, and was a supporter of the Arc of Wood County. For 6 years, he was a resident at Waterview Pointe Nursing Facility in Marietta, Ohio, where the loving staff became part of his family and a place he called home. His kind smile and personality were loved by all who knew him; he was a generous man, with faith that carried him through many trials.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, where a memorial service will be held on October 30, 2025, at 1 pm in Parkersbug, WV. Pastor Ian Reed and Pastor James Kinsler will officiate.
Memorials can be made in his honor to the ARC of Wood County or The Salvation Army.
