David George Huffman

David George Huffman, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in Metairie, just one day after celebrating his 80th birthday. Born on October 19, 1945, in Woodstock, Illinois, to the late George and Mary Huffman, David's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, love for his family, and dedication to his community.

David's legacy is lovingly cherished by his devoted children, Matthew Huffman and his wife Katie, and daughter Margaret Huffman. His joy was multiplied through his granddaughter, Alaina Tris Huffman, who brought an unparalleled brightness to his life. Preceded in death by his sisters Deborah Huffman (Diane Foscante) , and Diane (Didi) Huffman; Beloved wife, Sharon Marie Seals Huffman, David honored her memory by supporting others through the Griefshare organization.

For four decades, David was a respected and valued member of the Physical Plant team at Loyola, where his work ethic and camaraderie left a lasting impression. His commitment extended beyond his professional life into his spiritual journey. An active member of Grace Communion International Church, David served as a Deacon, Elder, and Pastor, touching lives with his pastoral care. He also found spiritual fulfillment at Cornerstone Christian Church, where he was a dedicated member.

David's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him in service and love. His involvement in church activities was not just a duty but a source of immense joy and fulfillment. He shared his musical talents by playing the guitar during worship, creating moments of beauty and reflection for all who listened.

A true sports enthusiast, David's passion for the games was unmatched. He was a lifelong Saints and LSU football fan, and his support for both minor and major league baseball was evident to anyone who knew him. David found happiness in the simple pleasures of listening to a game on the radio while also watching it on TV. He cherished the times spent with family at Zephyrs games, bonding over the thrill of the sport.

Music resonated deeply with David. Whether playing the guitar at home or in church, his love for melody enriched the lives of those around him. He enjoyed the precision and artistry of Drum Core performances and found solace and inspiration in movie soundtracks.

David George Huffman's life was a symphony of unwavering faith, deep familial bonds, and a heartfelt commitment to his community. His kind and intelligent spirit will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. David's memory will live on as a guiding light, inspiring love, and compassion in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Family and friends are invited to attend David's Memorial Service on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Cornerstone Christian Center, 6550 Lapalco Blvd. Marrero, La. 70072. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with a Service at 11:00 AM.
