Margaret Ann "Marg" Schroeder (née Ebben), age 75, passed away on April 9, 2025, in Cape Coral, Florida, while battling Leukemia. Marg was born on August 1, 1949, in
Appleton, Wisconsin to the late Cornelius and Caroline (Squires) Ebben. She was a graduate of Hortonville High School, class of 1967. Marg lived a life established in faith, family, and hard work.
Marg was the beloved wife of Donald "Don" Schroeder for 55 years, married on June 18, 1969. Together, they built a life of partnership and purpose-raising a family and managing their dairy farm. Marg's "can do" attitude and tireless spirit were evident in everything she did. Whether it was tackling the responsibilities with farm life or taking on new challenges in her professional career, she approached each task with determination and grace.
Marg's professional career consisted of customer service and sales roles at Jim's Plumbing in Greenville, Asten Forming Fabrics in Appleton, and Albany International in Menasha. Her strong work ethic, problem solving skills, and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
Over the years Marg enjoyed many hobbies that brought her joy and those around her. She loved bowling and snowmobiling-activities that created lasting friendships and unforgettable stories she treasured dearly. In more recent years she found comfort in reading books, solving crossword puzzles, scrolling through Facebook to stay connected with loved ones, watching Jeopardy!, playing board games and cards with family members, shopping at Beall's for little treasures that brightened her home, and savoring dinners out with family and friends over a glass of red wine.
After retirement, Marg and Don moved to Florida where they embraced the sunshine-filled lifestyle. Marg delighted in keeping tabs on Wisconsin weather so she could playfully remind friends back home of the warmth she was enjoying down south.
Catholic faith was the cornerstone of Marg's life. Her relationship with Jesus Christ provided strength through life's challenges. Each morning began with prayer for those she loved-a quiet testament to her deep devotion.
Marg's greatest joy came from her family. She is deeply cherished by Don (husband) and children: Rene' (Eric) Born, Todd (Kelly) Schroeder, April (Ryan) Rosenfeldt, and Chad (Sara) Schroeder. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren: Nathaniel Born, Katlyn Born, Taylor (partner Emma) Schroeder, Parker (partner Nina) Schroeder, Nicholas (fiancé Melanie) Rosenfeldt, Conner Rosenfeldt, Jaiden Schroeder, Collin Schroeder, Grant Schroeder, and Brody Schroeder.
She is also remembered with love by her siblings: Judith (Gary) VerVoort, Mary Buckmiller (special friend Wally), Paul (Connie) Ebben, Kenneth (Janice) Ebben, Rosanne (David) McCarthy, Tony (Louise) Ebben, Martin (Bonnie) Ebben, David (Jan) Ebben, Carolyn (Daniel) Plutz, Patrick (Christine) Ebben, and Jill (special friend Randy) Amerson. Her extended family included in-laws Debbie Ebben; Doris Culver; Duane (Karen) Schroeder; Barbara Bahr; and Gordon (Jean) Schroeder. Marg has many nieces and nephews of whom will also remember her lovingly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cornelius and Caroline Ebben; her brother Joseph Ebben; father- and mother-in-law Carl and Esther (Voecks) Schroeder; as well as several beloved in-laws: Ray Buckmiller; Earl and Suzanne Schroeder; Larry and Nancy Schroeder; Gordon Bahr; Carol and Eugene Tyler; Jeanette and Merle Strobel; Joanne and Joseph Verhasselt. She also mourned the loss of nephews Keith Ebben, Brandon Bahr, and great nieces Hayley Guyette, and Emily O'Connor.
Marg has many close companions and dear friends who kept in touch and brought her comfort during her illness. The bonds they shared were ones of laughter, loyalty, and enduring friendship. Marg's quick wit, generous smile, and easy laugh will be missed beyond measure. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
Marg's family would like to extend a special thank you and gratitude to all those who cared for her during her treatments.
