Loretta "Lori" Roberts, 86, passed away at the Country Villa in Freedom, WI on August 19, 2025, with her loved ones at her side. Lori was born on May 30, 1939, to Gilbert and Ruth Lasky. She resided in Gladstone, Michigan until her marriage. On September 13, 1958, she married Thomas Roberts and together they raised four children together. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2004.
Lori worked for Montgomery Wards, Tel Sec Answering, and the diet office at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 30+ years prior to her retirement. For 20 years, her Friday nights were devoted to cleaning dates with her dear friend, Carol, at the Buxton O'Neil Insurance building. Lori was also a volunteer at Pillars in Appleton, where she dedicated her time for 19 years. She was blessed to find lifelong friends at these positions and very proud of the work she did.
Lori will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, loving nature and compassion to help others. She was strong and fought hard to enjoy life despite many health challenges. Lori loved attending social events and never turned down a good conversation. She always had a story to tell, even if it was just about an item she was selling at her annual rummage sale. Lori cherished Christmas and found immense joy in searching for the perfect gifts for those in her life. Whether it was a Birthday, Christmas or smaller holiday, she always had a thoughtful gift or card to deliver; often with a lottery scratch off attached. She enjoyed being on the open road in her Buick, shopping with friends, reading, bowling, watching the Brewers, eating out at supper clubs, trips to Las Vegas and spending time with her family and friends. Lori will always be remembered as the tough, little lady with the baseball cap and an ice cold coke at hand.

She is survived by her Sisters: Kathy (Tom) Sahli, Lynn (Todd) Wulf; Children: Julie (Paul) Lange, Cindy Schabach (special friend Brian), Kathy (Bruce) Bennett, Dan Roberts; Grandchildren: Angela (Ed) Gonnering, Austin (Jenny) Lange, Jacob (April) Lange, Ben Schabach (special friend Tessa), Andrew Schabach, Brandon (Vanessa) Bennett, Brittany (Matthew) Brandt, Bronté Bennett and Aubrey (Mason) Anderson; Eight great-grandchildren; Nieces, nephews, additional relatives and many cherished friends.
A service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond Street, Appleton. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Lori's name to Pillars Homeless Shelter in Appleton, Wisconsin, where Lori volunteered for many years. Pillars • 400 N Division St, Appleton, WI 54911
