Margaret Schuchts Obituary
Margaret Mary "Margie" O'Donnell Schuchts was surrounded by her loving family as she bravely journeyed home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2017. Born June 11, 1954 in Dekalb, Illinois to Jerome and Kathleen O'Donnell. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Bob Schuchts; two daughters, Carrie (Duane) Daunt and Kristen (Stephen) Blake; eight grandchildren, Anna Kate, Andrew, Ryan, John David, Luke, Elizabeth, Gabrielle and William; brother Jere (Patty) O'Donnell; sisters Ann (Gerald) Williamson, and Julie (Tom) Sweeney; many nieces and nephews and countless other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, John O'Donnell. The family will be receiving visitors Thursday, September 21st, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with a visitation from 6-7pm, followed by a celebration of Margie's life in stories from 7-8pm, and ending with a rosary. The funeral will be held at 2pm on Friday September 22nd at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Open Door Women's Clinic or John Paul II Healing Center.

Margie was such an influence to us. Julie's friends. Older sister with many lessons. I went to holy family and pace. Spent many hours at the O'Donnells house. Margie was way cool and I will always remember her just as she was. God bless her and all her family.

I was deeply saddened when Mike told me of Margie's passing and please accept my condolences for your loss. My memories of Margie at Pace High are all of happiness, as she always lit up the room, was warm & friendly and always offered words of encouragement (especially when we varsity basketball players weren't doing very well). And one of my most fun & cool memories of Margie was when she & you and your new baby Carrie put Mike, Johnny C. & me up in your small apartment in Manhattan while you were at Columbia. You were busy with school stuff, but Margie (even with a new born) made sure we had fun while we were there (and we had a blast)! For those great memories, I will be eternally grateful to Margie. Dear Bob - words fall short on describing what I feel for your loss.
I considered myself very fortunate to have known Margie. She was a unique and wonderful combination of zeal and friendship. I have not, nor will I, forget the positive imprint she was on Joanne and on my family over the past decades. It seems particularly tragic that her final time with us is paradoxical to how she lived her life, how we remember Margie, so full of love, life, and laughter.

Margie and I started our friendship in 1985 when we both worked in OB at TCH.
That was when we learned that we were both from south Florida and how much we loved the beaches- Haulover Beach was hers and Key Biscayne mine. All of the OB nurses developed a close bond- we were family. This carried over the years, even when we worked in different places. We have been going to the beach every year together for over 25 years and are so glad we were able to have our "girls beach week" this year with Margie never dreaming this year would be the last time with her. Bob, Carrie, and Kristen I love you like family; you will always be in my prayers.

The world just won't be the same without Margie in it. She was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her. We were friends for over 30 years, a better friend you couldn't find. She was so dedicated to her family, friends, and profession. I am a better person for having been her friend and coworker.She was a great nurse her heart was always her strength !
