Margaret Stewart aka "Maggie" passed away peacefully surrounded by her closest loved ones on August 21st. She led a bountiful life as a member of the Westerly School Committee, a leader In the Sunshine Society, a member of the Westerly Lodge of Elks Emblem Club, and a Girls Scout leader. Her empathy made her a loving figure amongst the school community; she always sought out the best for the school children. She was a dutiful advocate for better wages for the bus drivers, and attended many state level meetings, receiving citations for completion of work for the school committee.

Her faith helped her become a lector at the Immaculate Conception church for many years, a role she was incredibly proud of.

She worked as a comptroller for the Town of Westerly where she proudly helped the town transition to computers.

Among her long list of contributions to the Westerly community, some of her best years were running the Rainbows End Restaurant where she was able to interact with customers and serve some of the best breakfast in town. Maggie was a people person through and through; enjoying her time talking to everyone she met. She was an attentive listener and would lend a shoulder if needed.

She leaves behind her daughter, Joanne Barr, nephew Jerry Duhamel JR, and two grandchildren. Her dedication to her family and friends leaves an impact that will be felt for years to come.
