Margaret A. Stocking

Margaret Ann Stocking of Rochester Hills passed away on June 16, 2023, at 89 years of age. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 5, 1934 to Mary (nee Saile) and Raymond Wade.
Spending her childhood in Grosse Pointe Park, MI, Margaret attended St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School and Dominican High School in Detroit. She then studied at St. Mary of the Springs College in Columbus, OH before returning home to Michigan for good. While employed with General Motors Corporation in Detroit, MI in the mid-1950s, she met her future husband, Jerome R. Stocking. Soon, the two said "I do", at St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic in Grosse Pointe Park. Margaret (Peggy) and Jerome (Jerry) started their family in St. Clair Shores, MI shortly after. The family quickly outgrew their home, and eventually relocated to Grosse Pointe Farms, MI where they remained until 1988. They spent their retirement years in St. Clair, Michigan, and Nokomis, FL.
She had many hobbies throughout the years, and was particularly fond of her genealogy research. Margaret's investigations were conducted prior to the internet when you had to actually hit the road to gather history. With this research, she became a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) where she served as a regent for the Ottawa Chapter based in Port Huron, MI.
Margaret's entire sense of being was her family. She will be deeply missed.
Margaret is survived by her Husband of 67 wonderful years, Jerome R. Stocking. Also surviving are their children, Patrick (Rachel) Stocking, Michael (Tanya) Stocking, Jerome (Sue) Stocking, Mary (Keith) Mulkeran, Laurence Stocking, Therese (Graham) Warger, Raymond (Alena) Stocking and her sister-in-law, Diane Wade. Margaret is survived by eleven grandchildren, Sarah Stocking, Jennifer (Aaron) Goodlock, Lauren Stocking, Lisa (Justin) Weiss, Stephanie Stocking, David Mulkeran, Daniel Mulkeran, Katheryn Stocking, Elizabeth Stocking, Shannon Stocking, and Christopher Stocking. Also surviving are her two great-grandchildren, Noah Semon and Ivy Semon, and great nephew, Dylan Wade.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Raymond and Mary, and her brother, Raymond (Bud) Wade.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 3-7pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd., Clawson, MI 48017. There will be a Rosary to end the evening beginning at 6:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 280 E. Square Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48085. Friends may visit beginning at 9:30am.
Margaret's final resting place will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit, MI.
