Margaret Lea Turner

Margaret Lea Turner, 85, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025. She was born in Chattanooga on December 19, 1939.

Margaret graduated from Tyner High School and worked as a CNA in private homes, where she found joy in serving and caring for others. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Margaret loved the mountains, cats, and African Violets, but above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bernice Elbon; her husband, William "Bill" Turner; and three brothers, Sam Elbon, James Elbon, and Charles Elbon.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Janice Tant Cowart, Carolyn (Jerry) Wescott, and Julie (Stan) Kilburn; her sister, Patricia Couch; three grandchildren, Harlan Tant, Emily Cowart, and Olivia Kilburn; along with several nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Lane Funeral Home South Crest Chapel, Rossville, Georgia. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM in Lakewood Memory Gardens East at 4621 Shallowford Road. Chattanooga, Tennessee 37411.
