Margaret M. Venango

Margaret M. Venango, of Feasterville-Trevose, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023; she was 82. Marge, as she was known by her family and friends, was born in Philadelphia on June 15, 1940 to the late John Eldred and the late Margaret (née McNally) Eldred. She was the wife to the late Charles J. Venango, Sr. who passed away in 2022.
Thoughtful, humble, supportive, compassionate, and gracious. Marge was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, volunteer, and friend. Always smiling and lighthearted, she was an equally good conversationalist and listener. Her home was a warm and peaceful retreat surrounded by gardens Marge nurtured with varieties of plants, roses, and trees.
A fervent cook, she made all sorts of foods and hosted 60+ years of Thanksgiving dinners, making everything by hand and adding different touches through the years. She loved to bake, and most occasions featured her homemade treats.
Marge loved music and books, the beach and shopping at Beall's boutique. Her summers were spent near Sea Isle City, NJ with Charles and their fur babies, Nick and Bella and she made trips to Florida during the winter.
She was a skilled nurse and avid volunteer at Aid for Friends and was the first volunteer at Cranaleith Spiritual Center. She prayed every day at noon and 3pm for souls, her family, and others in need. Her faith in The Lord was unshakable and her greatest attribute.
Marge is survived by her children: Margaret R. Kuonen, Mary E. DeMaio (Ron), Charles J. Venango, Jr. (Mary Kay), Anne M. O'Brien (Jim), Joseph A. Venango (Jennifer), her grandchildren: Amanda Blake (Patrick), Caroline Heller (Michael), Nicholas Kuonen, Justine Verdi (Alex), Kathleen Venango (fiancé Christopher), Conor O'Brien, Milton O'Brien, Michael Venango, Kevin Venango, and her great grandchildren: Leo Verdi, Parker Blake, and Giorgiana Verdi. She is also survived by her brothers: Thomas Eldred (Alice) and John Eldred (Janet).
Relatives and friends are invited to Marge's Life Celebration on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home, 10975 Academy Rd. Philadelphia, PA 19154 from 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. and then to her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Parish Church of St. Christopher, 13301 Proctor Rd. Philadelphia, PA 19116. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marge may be made to Cranaleith Spiritual Center at www.cranaleith.org.
