Mrs. Margaret Ann Yancey departed this life on September 12, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 22, 1942, to the late William and Angelus Campbell, Margaret Ann was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. Though she lived in Covington for many years, her heart often wandered to the mountains of Cleveland, Georgia, a place she dearly missed and considered her true home.

Margaret Ann shared a beautiful 55-year marriage with her late husband, Samuel Clyde Yancey, and together they nurtured a family that became her pride and joy. Though she was predeceased by her beloved son Jeff Yancey, her brother Billy Campbell, her nephew Joey Campbell, and her daughter-in-law Lesley Yancey, her legacy continues through her surviving family. Her children, Jody Yancey, Jennifer Yancey Hanley (married to Michael), her cherished grandchildren, Chris Worthy, Cameron Yancey (married to Ciara), Taylor Yancey, Christian Yancey, Kelsey Yancey (married to Anthony Miles), Alex Yancey, Madison Morganthall (married to Andrew Barth), Mallory Morganthall, and Lilyana Hanley as well as her great-grandchildren, Marissa and Cayden, will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Margaret Ann is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Christal Yancey and Patti Conroy, her dear cousins, Carol Jackson and Joyce Robinson, her niece, Leah Helms, and her nephew, Lonnie Campbell.

Margaret Ann's love for her family was unparalleled, and she expressed this love through her many passions and talents. An accomplished oil painter, she was a proud member of the Southern Heartland Art Guild and found solace and expression in the strokes of her brush. Her involvement with the Women's Club and her dedication as a Sunday school teacher at Covington First United Methodist Church exemplified her commitment to her community and her faith. Margaret Ann also loved sewing and making costumes for her granddaughters.

Known for her exceptional sense of humor, Margaret Ann had a knack for making people laugh. Her two precious dogs, Rascal and Tessa Lynn, were her constant companions.

A Memorial Service for Margaret Ann will be at 3 o'clock on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Covington First United Methodist Church with Reverend Doctor Douglas Gilreath, Reverend Chris Shurtz, and Reverend Doctor Jan McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00pm until 3:00pm at the church prior to the service.
