Margarita Blea

Margarita "Margie" Blea, 91, of Salinas, California, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025
in Bakersfield, CA, surrounded by family.
Born on June 17, 1933, in Mora, New Mexico. Margarita graduated from Mora High School in
New Mexico before dedicating her life to her family and loved ones. She was a devoted wife,
mother, and grandmother whose kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew
her. Her contagious laughter brought joy to many, and her compassion extended to everyone she
encountered.
Margarita's life revolved around her family. She poured her heart into supporting her children's
endeavors and actively participated in their activities, including church involvement, PTA, Girl
Scouts, Eagle Scouts, 4-H Club, swimming lessons, piano lessons, and school field trips. Her
unwavering encouragement and presence were the foundation of her family's strength and unity.
She loved her Mexican music, it made her dance, with that big smile of hers.
She is survived by her daughter Joanne Pleak (Bob); her sons Abraham Aquino Jr. (Rachel) and
Isaac Blea Suarez; and her cherished grandchildren Tirzah Guzman (Juan) and her seven
children; Abraham Aquino III (Mari) of California; Isaac S. Lorenzano (Samantha), Isaiah
Suarez, Isias Suarez of Arizona; Isabella Suarez, Isis Suarez of California; and Desiree Martinez-
Galvan of New Mexico. Amanda Gonzales Brent of Ohio and Marie Antoinette Gonzales of
Tennessee. She is also survived by her sister Annie Pamuspusan of California and Pete Blea of
New Mexico.
Margarita was preceded in death by her parents Manuel Blea and Laura Barela Blea; her late
husband Abraham A. Aquino Sr.; her son Manuel Blea; her sister Delia B. Cruz; and her brothers
Jesus Blea, Luciano Blea, and Max Blea.
A viewing will be held at Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel, 41 West San Luis Street, Salinas,
CA on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with interment of ashes at the
Vigil Family Cemetery in Chacon, New Mexico.
Margarita's legacy of love and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew
her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
