DEBUS, Margarita, G., "Rita" February 21, 2025 Age 93. Beloved wife of the late Harold (2014). Loving mother of Karen (John) Cavataio, Keith Debus, Ken (Bonnie) Debus and the late Kraig Debus. Proud grandmother of Gina (Dan) Rozak, Tiffany (Brandon) Kirk, Tierra (Joshua) Crawford, Talyn Debus-Villasenor, Reed (Michael Royal Chamberlain) Debus, Kenneth Debus, Brandon (Shelby) Debus, Olivia Debus, and great grandmother of Serafina, Wyatt, Lucas, Madelyn, Ezra, and Keir. Predeceased by her dear siblings John Santangelo, Marie Santangelo, Linda Eleinko, Frank Forcione, and Robert (the late Marianne) Forcione. Also survived by her sister-in-law Betty Forcione and many admiring nieces and nephews.
Rita lived a long, wonderful life, overflowing with love, talent, and cherished memories. She was a true artist in the kitchen, known far and wide for her delectable Mint Pie dessert and savory Spinach Pies that graced every holiday gathering. Her hands were never idle, always busy creating beautiful crocheted blankets and scarves for her family, each stitch woven with love.
A dedicated homemaker, Rita devoted herself to raising her four children, pouring her heart into nurturing and caring for them. Once her children were grown, she found joy in her job at Hudson's, where she sold men shoes. Rita truly relished her work, taking pleasure in meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life. Her memory was nothing short of astounding, always ready to regale anyone with captivating stories from her childhood.3
Rita's happy place was at the Casino, her face lighting up with joy as she played the slot machines, surrounded by the symphony of sounds and flashing lights. She had a sweet tooth and embraced the delightful rule of "eating dessert first." Visitors to her home were greeted with the comforting scent of vanilla, as she always had a vanilla-scented candle burning, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Rita's legacy lives on in the little things she cherished and shared. She passed on her love for finding a good deal and the art of couponing to those around her. Her life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments that will forever be treasured by her family and friends.
