Kaethe (Kathy) Debus, age 86, was born on February 28th, 1939, in Frankfurt, Germany. On June 7th, 2025, she passed peacefully from her earthly home, in Jonesboro, GA and went to her new home with Jesus.
When she was 18, she met and married a US army soldier, James Blaine Deeter and moved to the United States. She was naturalized as a US citizen on September 6th, 1966. After experiencing the horrors of WW2, she was a proud American patriot.
Kathy earned her bachelor's degree in accounting as a CPA. She eventually retired from a career with the IRS, where she was said to be very good at her job by her colleagues.
Her interests included gardening, health, and politics. She loved nature and said she did her best thinking when she was walking in the park.
As she got older, she began to be more concerned with spiritual things. On August 13th, 2022, she became a citizen of heaven and God continued to work her heart until she joined Him in heaven.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Deeter and Dawn Felicia Beene, and her son-in-law, James Thomas Beene. She also has two grandchildren, James Brandon Beene (wife Savhanna Beene) and Nicole Marie Watson (husband James Watson) and their three children.
The "Celebration of God's Grace" service to honor her journey will be held on June 12th at 12 PM, with visitation beginning at 11 AM. The service will be held at Henry Baptist Church at 4035 Jodeco Road, McDonough, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations to REACHMissions.world, which has a mission to extend the gospel through global partners.
