Margaret Ann Rocha Fuentes, known lovingly as Margie, was born on August 3, 1963, in Refugio, Texas. She departed this life on July 20, 2025, in Orange Grove, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Throughout her life, Margie exemplified the qualities of a true jack of all trades. With an impressive and varied career, she deftly maneuvered through various roles, including work in restaurants and as a clerk. Margie's heart was particularly devoted to caregiving and providing for others; she organized fundraisers to assist family and friends during times of need, reflecting her commitment to service and compassion.
Margie was deeply committed to her faith, which was a cornerstone of her existence. As a dedicated member of ACTS (Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service), she dedicated her time, talent, and resources to uplift those around her. Margie's actions resonated with her strong beliefs, infusing her life with a sense of purpose and joy. Her radiant smile and generous spirit served as a beacon of God's love, demonstrating her compassion and kindness to all who knew her.
Raised with old-fashioned values of respect, honesty, discipline, and the importance of family unity, Margie embodied a personality that was kind, caring, and full of humor. She had a delightful zest for life, always ready to embrace moments of silliness and share infectious laughter.
Margie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished the beauty of nature, often immersing herself in the tranquility of the beach or a lakeside view. Whether sitting outside at dawn to witness a breathtaking sunrise or enjoying a colorful sunset in the evening, she felt at home in the presence of water and nature's splendor. Her love for cooking was well known, yet her greatest pleasure came from savoring delicious meals. A true animal lover, Margie also delighted in capturing precious moments of her pets, reveling in their playful antics.
Margie is survived by her beloved sons, Michael Shelton and Joseph Shelton, and grandchildren, Micheala Shelton and Michael Shelton, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She also leaves behind her siblings, Manuel (Lydia) Alaniz, Rosina (Pete) Cardenas, Juan "Johnny" (Janie) Rocha, Henry (Elizabeth) Rocha, and Joaquin (Sylvia) Rocha. Margie shared her life with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, an extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Henry and Ramona Rocha, along with her brother, Cesario Rocha, and sister, Rhonda Gutierrez. Their memories will live on within the hearts of those who continue to honor Margie's spirit and values.
As we celebrate Margie's remarkable life, we embrace the influence she had on so many as a loving mother, dedicated sister, and cherished friend. She will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of love and service will endure through all who had the privilege of knowing her.
