Mrs. Margie Marie Wooten Lequire, 93, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
She was born and raised in Macon County and was the daughter of the late Roy Wooten and Myrtle Sorrells Wooten.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Franklin D. Lequire, who passed away June 1, 2025; one brother, William (Bill) Wooten and three sisters, Louise Lequire, Mildred Saunders and Virginia (Jean) Sanders.
Mrs. Lequire was a charter member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed canning vegetables from their garden, making jelly, baking and quilting. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Lequire is survived by two daughters, Debbie Wallace (Larry), Diane Baldwin (Danny); three grandchildren, Derek Wallace (Sandie), Lindsay Rumans (Chris), Karri Vaughn (Kyle), five great-grandchildren, Kendall Rumans, Landon Wallace, Cooper Wildcat, Jace Rumans, and Bryce Wallace.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, January 22, 2026 in the Grant Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Janet Greene and Chaplain Donny Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derek Wallace, Landon Wallace, Cooper Wildcat, Jace Rumans, Bryce Wallace, Chris Rumans, Kyle Vaughn, and Kadan Vaughn. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 3:00 pm Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to say a very special Thank You to all the staff at The Franklin House.
