Margit Szilagyi Obituary
January 22, 1928 - February 13, 2025
Margit Eleven Szilagyi passed away peacefully at her home in Chesterfield on February 13, 2025. Born an ethnic Hungarian, Margit emigrated from Yugoslavia to the United States with her husband Sandor and their children. Her journey was one of love, resilience, and determination.
Margit's warm and caring nature was at the heart of everything she did. While working hard with Sandor, building a successful business, she also created a supportive and loving home where family always came first. A dedicated homemaker, she took great pride in nurturing her flower and vegetable garden. An amazing cook and baker, Margit brought delight to everyone who shared her table. Her skill as a seamstress was equally remarkable - sewing, knitting, and crocheting beautiful clothing for herself and her family.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Sandor; daughter Margit; son-in-law Franklin, great-grandchild Jack; grandchild Steven; and daughter-in-law Debra. Margit is survived by her son Alex (Agnes); son-in-law James; grandchildren Daniela (Frank), Susan (Richard), Jason (Christy), Melanie, Ernie; and great-grandchildren Matthew, Kaden (David), Logan, Patrick, Jonathan, Stevie, Skylar, and Christopher.
Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Monday, February 24, 2025, with the funeral service being held at 12:30 pm at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., Richmond. The interment will follow at 2 pm at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave, Richmond.
