Margo L. Gray, age 78, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at OSF. Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Margo was born on July 3, 1944 in LaHarpe, Illinois to Elmer E. and Josephine R. (Lorton) Collins. She married Clifford Phillip Gray on September 18, 1965 in LaHarpe.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Phillip; her twin daughters, Angela (Brad) Beckman of Greenville, SC and Julie (Christopher) Nichols of Washington, IL; her son, Sean Michael Gray of Henderson, NV; and her grandchildren, Cody (Jordyn) Beckman, Mackenna Beckman, Jacob Beckman, Michael Quigg, Mitchell Quigg, Delaney Seifers, Scott Nichols and Bryant Nichols. Also surviving is her brother, Terry (Barbara) Collins of Macomb, IL and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Billy D. Collins.
Margo was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. When her kids were young, she worked the snack bar at IVC High School and after her kids were grown, she worked at the Book Emporium, Chillicothe State Bank and Hallmark. She was a member of the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church, the Chillicothe Home Extension and her Bunco group. Margo enjoyed reading, and traveling, especially wintering in Sun City, Arizona. Family was very important to Margo and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11am at Chillicothe First United Methodist Church with visitation held an hour prior to the service. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Rev. Ron Martz will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Chillicothe City Cemetery.
29 years ago Margo was the recipient of a new liver. She persevered through the surgery and recovery with her family by her side and was a true warrior. Because of how much this meant to her and to her family, memorials in her name may be made to Gift of Hope.

Always kept Margo and Phil in my heart even though I had not seen them for a few years . When I was much younger and lived only a few blocks away she and Phil were my role models . I am sorry for your loss
