Margo Sting Obituary

Margo Sting
Margo Fox Sting, 81, of New Canaan, CT passed away on Friday, October 28, surrounded in love by her two daughters.
Margo was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Marjorie Beatenhead Fox and Ernest LaVerne Fox. She graduated from University of Michigan in 1963 and continued to be a Wolverine fan throughout her lifetime. She was married that same year to her beloved Don Sting, also from Saginaw, whom she had loved since middle school. Margo and Don went on to have an amazing lifetime marriage that was admired by all who knew them and they were as supportive to each other as they were to their entire family. Before having two daughters, Margo taught History and French in a Cleveland public middle school. Cleveland is where her love of volunteering began and where she became devoted to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. Her love of volunteering continued when she and Don moved their family to New Canaan in 1979. Margo loved her volunteer days at New Canaan High School as well as the Junior League. Margo also had a voracious love of reading. She read every genre possible, but history and biographies were her favorite. She taught all who knew her that you should never stop learning - there is always more to read and learn!
Above all, even her books, Margo loved her family and friends. Margo is survived by her daughter Jennifer Frattaroli, her husband Jon, and two grandchildren Allison and Andrew, as well as her daughter Libby, and grandchildren Griffin, Meghan and Justin Miller. Her lifelong friend, Suzi Gerber and her dearest longtime New Canaan friends, as well as Phyllis Bender, have endured her journey and shown the true commitment of friendship. In more recent years, her team of caregivers, deemed Team Margo, spearheaded by Siobhan Hare-Keehan, have shown her compassion and love beyond measure.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Canaan, www.stmarksnewcanaan.org, or Cure Alzheimer's Fund, curealz.org. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for all of the kind notes, sentiments and donations. Margo's belief in making a difference in both words and actions was one of the many legacies she leaves with us.

My condolences to you & your family, Jen. It´s been an honor playing music for her and the others at Bridges, and it was terrific to see her smile & sing along. May her memory be a blessing to the next generations; I have no doubt it will...
