Margot Fontaine Alicia Curtis-Turner was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She succumbed to her illness on June 18th, 2022 at age 66.
Margot was born on November 22nd, 1955 in Kingston, Jamaica to Leslie and Lynette Curtis. She attended Immaculate High School and migrated to New York City in February 1968. She continued her education at Brooklyn College where she studied Biology with the intent to attend medical school. She transferred to Queens College and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1983.
In 1974 she met and fell in love with Carl Turner, her soul mate. They got married on July 30th,1988. Together, they had a daughter, Tedra, whom they dearly loved.
Margot worked in telecommunications for over a period of 24 years. Upon retiring, she continued her education at Molloy College and studied nursing. However, due to severe illness, she had to curtail her studies to 9 credits short of fulfilling her dream to become a registered nurse.
In 2005 the family moved to Port St Lucie, Florida where she resided until her passing. Margot's strong enthusiasm for life allowed her to live beyond the expectations of her physicians. She loved traveling, music, and being the life of the party. She fondly captivated people with her many stories and infectious laugh. She was always ready to go for a ride, sometimes at night to get coffee with Carl which ended up being a 50-mile trip.
She is survived by her husband Carl, daughter Tedra, sister Phillipa "Pippa" Curtis (UK), brother Leslie "Junior" Curtis, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at All County Funeral Home in Stuart Florida on July 9th, 2022 at 10 AM. Interment immediately follows at Fernhill Memorial Gardens.
