Margot Eva Maria Humbert April 19, 1940 – August 5, 2025

Margot Eva Maria Humbert passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 85, joining our Lord in heaven. Born in Berlin, Germany, Margot was the youngest of three children of Richard Max and Ida Erna Anna (Grindel) Giersch.

In June 1960, Margot married Werner Robert Humbert in Berlin, and later that year they immigrated to the United States. They soon settled in Denver, Colorado, where they began a new chapter of their life together.

After high school in Germany, Margot continued her education by completing a Retail Merchandising degree program. A few years later after moving to Colorado, she attended the Aurora Technical Center and earned a Commercial Art certificate. She had a deep appreciation for animals and nature and spent many vacations exploring the mountains, national parks, and state parks. Her favorite activities included reading, camping, hiking, boating, bowling and browsing gift shops for unique collectibles.

She is survived by her three children: Frank Humbert (Alyson) of Windsor, CO; Michael Humbert of Nucla, CO; and James Humbert of Nucla, CO. Margot also leaves behind six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Werner Humbert; her parents, Richard and Ida Giersch; her brother, Richard Giersch; and her sister, Marianne Treupl.

A longtime resident of Aurora, Colorado, Margot spent her final years in Windsor, Colorado, where she found comfort and community. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her joyful spirit, unwavering devotion to family, and generous heart.

Margot was laid to rest at Fairmont Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, beside her beloved husband and near other cherished relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society – Water Valley Chapel, located in the Independent Living Building.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church Charities – K-9 Comfort Dog Ministries at www.lutheranchurchcharities.org/give-lcc-k-9.html
