Marguerite Olive Lebel – Methuen, MA

Marguerite Olive Lebel, a cherished soul known affectionately as Aunti to her friends, family, and loved ones gracefully entered eternal rest on December 10, 2025, in Methuen, MA. Born on a snowy Christmas day in 1940, in Lawrence, MA, she was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her 85 years on this earth.

Marguerite's journey began as the beloved daughter of Olive Carbonneau Lebel and Adalard Lebel, both of whom preceded her in death. Who she was incredibly loyal to and took care of them until the end . She grew up in a home filled with warmth in Methuen, where she later graduated from Tenney High School, followed by her completion of secretarial school in Boston. Her dedication and hard work defined her career at Volkswagen of Wilmington, where she remained a loyal employee for 45 years and then eventually, retiring from a pharmaceutical company.

Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and imbuing her with a selfless and gentle nature. Marguerite's love for her family knew no bounds. She lived with her niece Vicki Bergeron, her husband Serge, and their four children, Alexa, Zac, Angelina, and Sylvi, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Marguerite was also a beloved figure to many nieces and nephews, including Francine Allen, William Hagger and his wife Brenda, Joseph A. and Lori Lebel, Scott & Michelle Lebel, Ronald and Danielle Lebel, Colleen M. Hopkins, Joanne Lebel Minicucci, and Robert Lebel and his wife Tina and a sister in law Beverly. Marguerite also had 42 great and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 3 brothers and 2 sister in laws. Ronald A Lebel, Richard Lebel and his wife Sylvia, Paul Lebel and his wife Norma. and 3 nephews Paul Lebel, Scott Lebel and Michael Hagger remembered fondly by their families.

Marguerite's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She was a second grandmother to many, especially to her great-nieces Angelina and Sylvi whom she babysat for many years. Her later years were spent joyously watching her great nieces and nephews grow, celebrating their achievements and milestones as if they were her own.

In her younger days, she had a beautiful spirit of adventure. She found great joy in traveling with friends. She traveled to places many only dream of - The Beautiful shores of Hawaii, Tahiti, Las Vegas, London, Italy, the Vatican, St. Paul's Cathedral, Rome, the Pope's summer residence, Sorrento, Naples, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, and France

She had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley-his music filled her home, and she treasured the opportunity she once had to see him in concert."

Having been born on Christmas Day, the holiday was always especially dear to her. It was my honor, as her niece, to make each Christmas a joyful and memorable celebration for her throughout her life with her family and extended family. We never missed a birthday cake.

As someone who took great pleasure in the simple joys of life, Marguerite had a delightful phase of indulging in QVC, which always brought a chuckle to those around her. Her interests were a reflection of her loving nature, always putting family first, and finding contentment in the happiness of her loved ones.

Marguerite's life reminds us of the beautiful words by Helen Keller: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." She embodied this sentiment, touching the hearts of everyone she met with her boundless love and care.

In remembering Marguerite, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and kindness. She was a woman who exemplified the virtues of Christian charity and love, and her legacy will continue to inspire and motivate all who were blessed to know her. Marguerite Olive Lebel's memory will forever be a guiding light, a reminder that the essence of life is found in the love we share and the compassion we show to others.

There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA, 01844. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
