Robert A. "Bob" Lebel, 72, of Bristol, beloved husband of Diane (Susco) Lebel, died on Sunday (March 15, 2026) at Hartford Hospital.

Bob was born on June 29, 1953, in Auburn, Maine and was a son of the late Rene and Joan (LeBlond) Lebel.

He spent his early childhood in Auburn, ME where he attended Steven Mills School before he and his family moved to Bristol when he was 12 years old. Bob then graduated from Bristol Central High School as a member of the Class of 1972.

Bob had many endeavors during his working career. He attained his work ethic first as a newspaper carrier for the Hartford Courant. He had both a morning and afternoon route. He then worked in grocery for Stop & Shop, Food Mart, and was produce manager at Gnazzo's Food Center in Plainville where he would meet Diane. He lived in the various places his work took him including Cohocton, NY where he and Diane owned and operated The Country Store and later to Beacon Falls, CT where they owned and operated Beacon Falls Market. He later founded Lebel Enterprises which included Connecticut Business Brokers and Massachusetts Business Brokers where he utilized his skills in buying and selling businesses to help others. He was noticed and bought out by Webster Bank where he took a job to continue utilizing his skill. Other ventures in self-employment included window washing, vending machines, pool tables, spice distributing, and operating Your Deli in Terryville. He last worked for Empire Today for 10 years where he used his people skills to earn relationships and prosper in sales. He even had a stint as an Uber driver to stay busy and be with people.

Bob loved staying active. In his early years he spent time practicing martial arts, jogging and bike riding. As a father and brother, he especially loved spending time playing competitive card games and board games.

In addition to his loving wife, with whom he just celebrated 43 years of marriage, Bob is survived by four children, his trophies: Dustin Lebel and wife, Stephanie of Watertown, Tyler Lebel of Crescent City, FL, Jennifer Roffer and husband, Mark of Unionville and Ryan Lebel and wife, Emily of Merrimack, NH; six sisters: Claire Martin of Bristol, Annette Dalke of Southwick, MA, Cecile Boulette of Davenport, FL, Louise Hawksley of Freeland, PA, Lena Fenton of White Haven, PA and Lorraine Myers of Evensville, TN; four grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Jack Lebel, Hannah Lebel, Emma Roffer and Addison Lebel; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother: Roland Lebel.

Calling hours will be at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Thursday between 11 AM and 1:30 PM followed by a celebration of Bob's life at 1:30 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Please visit Bob's memorial website at www.FunkFuneralHome.com.
