Maria Idalia Abreu was born on March 16th 1985 to Maria Matos and Manuel Abreu.
Maria was known by Meri, Merilyn, or her infamous name Ms. Diamond (she loved to be called that because it resembled her personality). She was a protector, a provider, a shoulder to lean on, she was the best and had the most beautiful soul. She kept everyone together, family functions were gathered by her doings, she loved to dance, she loved fashion, she loved to dress and her favorite soda was Coca Cola. She loved all colors as she was an aesthetic person but she loved and wore red the most. Her greatest legacy lives on through the love of her family-her devoted mother, Maria Matos; her brothers, Roberto, Carlos, Junior, Irving, Luis, Rayner & Gerald Abreu; and her sisters, Rukmini Alonzo and Shadae Greene Medina. She was a devoted mother to her three beautiful daughters, Anaya Coutac, Brianna White, Paris White, and to her only son, Jayden White. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to her cherished granddaughter, Anayelis Cordero-Coutac.
Maria's legacy of love continues through her five nieces, Quayianah, Kat, Analia, Liliana, and Betsy Abreu; and her nephews, Rahmed, Anthony, Elijah, RJ, Omar, Ibn, Nugi and Angel Abreu.
Beyond her immediate family, Maria became "Aunt" to countless additional nieces, nephews, and children of family friends. She had a rare gift for making everyone around her feel special, welcomed, and loved.
Maria will be remembered not only for her kindness and the light she brought into every room, but also for her strength and determination. She was a hardworking leader in every role she held-as a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her dedication, resilience, and love will forever remain imprinted on the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
