Maria Rojelia Alcala passed away on May 19, 2025, in San Francisco, California. She was born on September 9, 1955, in Lagos De Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico, and was raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
On October 2, 1971, Maria married Francisco Alcala in San Pedrito, Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico. After moving to the United States, they lived in Hilmar, California before settling in Turlock.
Maria devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. Her days were filled with care and dedication to those she loved. She found joy in baseball, cooking traditional meals, traveling to new places, visiting casinos, and spending cherished time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Baudelia Ramirez and Juan Torres; and her beloved children, Luis Antonio Alcala and Jose de Jesus Alcala.
Maria is lovingly remembered by her husband of over five decades, Francisco Alcala; her children, Francisco (Eleanor) Alcala Jr., Martha (Urial) Solis, and Robert Alcala; and her grandchildren, Jesse (Jessica) Alcala, Miranda Alcala Zamora, Karmen Alcala, Uriel Solis Jr., Valeria Alcala, and Olivia Solis.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, California. Following the mass, Maria will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.
