Maria (Sally) Alcon, 84, passed away on February 26, 2025, at her home in Blanco, New Mexico. She was born on March 17, 1940, in Gallina, NM, to Isaac Maestas and Antonia (Antonio) Mestas. She met and married her husband Desiderio in 1959, and together they had six children: Manuel (Shelly), Ernie (Jenny), Albert, Robert, Jeff (Sheila), and Adelle (Dale). She also had 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Sally also has numerous sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and a large family of in-laws who loved her.
Sally is preceded in death by her loving husband, Desiderio, and her two sons, Albert and Robert. She loved her home, that is where she found peace. She loved her plants and enjoyed being outside when the weather wasn't cold. (Fun fact) Sally loved to eat, and sweets especially. It didn’t matter what time of day you called; she was eating. One of her favorite things to do was go out to eat. Taco Bell was her favorite, never understood why.
Sally loved her children, who were perfect in her eyes, they never did wrong. Most importantly, she was devoted to God and her faith. She laid her worries and sorrows upon Him, knowing that He would always be there for her. Sally would not have made it through the trials endured throughout her lifetime without Him. She planted the seed of God in many people’s hearts, and we know they are forever thankful to her.
Our hearts are broken, and she will be greatly missed.
