Ms. Alston was such a joy to work with! I am saddened by the loss of such a great light. she had such a passion for life and especially for the students here at YE Smith. I hate that I could not attend the service for her but I did watch online. To the family- You all did a great job memorializing Maria. Know that the staff, students and families here ate YE Smith are praying for your comfort and peace during this difficult time. Please remember: John 16:22 - So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. Maria brought us all joy and we count it joy to have had the opportunity to know and love her.

Ms. Alston you will truly be missed. You were a sweet and funny lady, always making people laugh. Always coming down to the cafeteria (YE Smith) to speak to us every day and we get to see what nice outfit you had on each day. So, I know you going out in style. Stay Flyy and rest in peace. So sad to hear this news. Maria was a very vibrant and funny teammate. She loved her own children as well as working with kids in WCPSS. I will always remember all the funny things that she blurted out at our team meetings Gone too young!
