On 10/3/23, 76-year-old Maria Martha Bannis transitioned into eternity where she united with her husband, Augustus "Alonzo" Bannis and son, Eustace Durand. Although happy that she is with her Lord, mourning her departure are her children – Jacqueline Zamore, Angelic Bannis Jno-Charles, Sophia Bannis, Nola John-Drummond, and Philemon Bannis. Her sons-in-law – Lector Zamore, Orville Drummond and Terrence Swisher, and daughter-in-law Tamantha Benjamin-Bannis. Missing her will be her grandchildren – Jasmine "Nimi" Jno-Charles, Alisha Zamore, Abby Fontaine, Karel Jno-Charles, Mahlia Drummond and Hailey Drummond and great granddaughter Jasmine Vickers. Saddened by their loss are her brothers – Neil Louis, Nato Louis and Nolly Louis, and sisters – Merilia Louis, Merina Louis, Matilda Louis, Mavia Louis, Murie Louis, Merle Louis, Merltina Louis, and her aunt Linda Vidal. Also mourning are her brothers-in-law – McDonald "Mado" Bannis, Alexander "Bakay" Bannis, John Abraham, Fred Foster, Clarence Romain and Clement Laronde, sister-in-law Anita Louis, Siguna Louis and Delima Louis, her adopted daughter Agnes Casimir, many nieces, nephews, close friends, and family, including – Dirk Frederick, Jessie Jno-Baptiste, Elaine Thomas, Adillia Bannis, Natalie Hypolite, Darnie Vidal, Nazarene Bannis, Rupert Bannis, Holford Joseph, and Johnson "Pawen" Bannis. Remembering her always will be family and close friends including Eluid Williams, Sally Myler and Chantele Casimir; Fama Alfred, Veralyn George, Elta Dailey, Aderson Louis, Eunie Vidal, Daniel and Myrtle Massicot, Helen Felix-Thomas, Agatha Shillingford, Cynthia Dejean, Juliette Lawrence, Merlyn Valery, Paulette Toussaint-Jarvis, Antoinette James, Gloria Graham, Althea, and Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Benjamin.
The family thanks everyone who supported them with their presence, thoughts, and prayers during her time of illness and death.
Special thanks to Community Bible Church, Sacred Journey Hospice, Salisbury First Baptist Church, and Calvary Baptist Church.
The memorial service for Mrs. Maria Martha Bannis will take place at 11am on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Community Bible Church, 2001 Jodeco Rd, Stockbridge, GA 30281.
