Maria F. Borba

Maria Francisca Borba passed away with her family by her side on November 5, at the age of 90. Maria was born in Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal on February 25, 1934. She came to the United States in 1969 with four children and one on the way. She first came to Watsonville in 1974, where she worked at Colshire of California for a few years. She loved to make rosaries and give them out to people. Maria is survived in death by her children; Filomena (Abel) Oliveira of Watsonville, CA, Agnelo Borba of Delhi, CA, Lucas Borba of Merced, CA, Fatima (Pedro) Lima of Los Banos, CA, and Jose Dinnis (Pam) Borba of Grands Pass, OR. Also, by her grandchildren; Daniel, David and Deodato Oliveira, Daniel Borba and Victoria and Alexander Lima. Her great-grandchildren; Lorelai, Maverick & Wyatt Oliveira, Clyde Bloesch, Joshua and Anita Borba. And numerus nieces and nephews. Maria's two siblings; Joao Soares of Woodland, CA and Bernardete Baltazar of Lemore, CA. Maria is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Jose Antonio Borba, and her grandson Jacob Daniel Oliveira. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 21 at Saint Patrick's Church. The Rosary will begin at 10:00am followed by the mass. The burial will be held on Friday, November 22 at Hills Ferry cemetery in Newman, CA (1334 West Stuhr Road, Newman, CA 95360) beginning at 11:00am.
