Maria D. Caddy, 87, of New Bloomfield, PA passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 14 at 5:45 p.m., with her little sister and brother-in-law by her side.
Born July 3,1937 in Ojocaliente, Zac. Mexico to Crescencio and Catherine Lopez Salas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John H. Caddy; infant daughter Lucinda, and daughter Juanita who died on August 25, 2024. Brothers Julius and John Salas.
Survived by her loving son George "Ted" Caddy, Connecticut and David Caddy, Pennsylvania; three grandsons; and her little sister, Gloria (Tom) Robine, Johnstown, PA. Also, many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and her very dear friends, Betty Yohn and Mary Drew.
Maria, known as Lucy to her family, grew up in Johnstown, Pa from the age of eleven. She married John on February 25, 1954, and lived in Harrisburg, Bridgeport, Connecticut, Stoystown, PA then eventually returned to the Duncannon/New Bloomfield, PA area where she has resided for over 40 years. She was previously employed with Iceland Packing and retired from the former Mutzabaugh's Family Market where she was employed for over 20 years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, doing word search puzzles, and playing bingo.
The family wishes to thank the nurses at Penn State Health, Hampden Medical Center, Enola Pa for the most courteous and loving care given to Maria during her final hours on this earth. A very special thank you to Hannah C., Grace, and Lauren for going above and beyond your duties in showing kindness to Maria's sister and brother-in-law during their time spent with their sister, and for the love and care you gave to Maria.
Maria is being served by Central Pennsylvania Cremation Society. Per Maria's request there will be no viewing or service. Rest in peace my sweet sister, I'll love you forever and I'll see you when Jesus calls me home. Love you now, always, and forever. Your "little sister", Gloria.
