Maria Grin, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on June 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with a long illness. Born on July 22, 1947, in Gieraltów, Poland, Maria's journey of 77 years took her from her family home in Poland to the welcoming community of Palos Hills, Illinois, where she spent her final days surrounded by the love of her family and close friends.
Maria's life was a living testament to her Catholic faith, which she nurtured and shared generously with everyone around her. She believed in the power of grace, the strength of prayer, and the importance of forgiveness. She was a woman whose presence was felt deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her legacy of love is one that will continue to resonate within the hearts of her beloved children, Miroslaw Grin and Agnieszka Grin-Walaszek, her cherished nine grandchildren, and her adored great-grandchild.
As we bid farewell to Maria Grin, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and brimming with love. Her memory will be cherished, her teachings upheld, and her spirit forever woven into the fabric of the lives she touched. She has returned to the Lord, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us. May we all find solace in the knowledge that Maria's journey was one of fulfillment, and may her soul rest in eternal peace, in the loving embrace of our Lord.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, July 6th from 2:30pm to 5:30pm at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home in Justice, IL.
Gathering for the funeral will start at 8am on Monday, July 7th at the funeral home with the procession leaving for the church at 9:30am. The funeral mass will start at 10am at Our Lady Mother of the Church Polish Mission in Willow Springs, IL, followed by the procession to the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice, IL.
