Maria Elena Madrigal, born on August 18, 1946, in Mexico, passed away on October 11, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was born to the late Domingo Madrigal and Francisca Andrade.
Maria Elena is survived by her loving daughters, Melissa Moreno and husband Oscar of Victoria, Texas, and Marizela Peña and husband Reynaldo of Victoria, Texas; and her sons Guadalupe Villarreal Jr. and wife Adela, Juan Villarreal Sr. and wife Veronica, and Jerry Villarreal Sr. and wife Hilda, all of Victoria, Texas.
She is also survived by her sisters Herlinda Narvaiz and husband Pilar, Hermina Davis, both of Victoria, Texas, and Elida Serna and husband John of Pasadena, Texas; and her brothers Ramiro Madrigal Sr. and wife Idelta of Pasadena, Texas, and Raul Madrigal Sr. and wife Rosemary of Clear Lake, Texas.
Maria Elena leaves behind a beautiful legacy of 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Jaime Villarreal Sr., and her granddaughter Jessica Villarreal.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home in Victoria, Texas. Visitation will continue on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 8:15 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesus Villarreal III, Juan Daniel Villarreal Jr., Anthony Villarreal, Amador Torres III, Jerry Lee Villarreal Jr., and Cornelio Hernandez Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Villarreal.
Maria was a devoted mother whose love knew no limits. Her arms were always open, her words full of wisdom, and her presence a constant source of comfort. She raised her children with strength and tenderness, teaching them resilience, kindness, and the value of family. She was the heart of our family and will be dearly missed by many
