Martha Garcia Lopez

Martha Elia Rubio, born on May 9, 1947, in Mexico, passed away on October 14, 2025, in Victoria, Texas. She was born to the late Apolonio Garcia and Maria De Refugio.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Eulalio Rubio; daughters, Maria Perez and husband Javier of Port Lavaca, Texas, Maggie Venegas of Port Lavaca, Texas, Martha Valadez of Port Lavaca, Texas, Dora Arredondo and husband Alex of Placedo, Texas, Leticia Lopez and husband Samuel of Port Lavaca, Texas, and Annette Anguiano and husband Javier of Port Lavaca, Texas; and son, Rudy Venegas and wife Stacey of Arizona. She is also survived by her brothers, Paco Garcia and wife Elva, and Pablo Garcia and wife Beacky, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. Ama made some of the best tamales in town. She loved her western movies and novelas. She was loved by so many she was AMA to so many even if you weren't family. She would treat you like her own.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Ruben Venegas, her sisters Francisca Garcia and Maria Elena Garcia, and her brothers Apolonio Garcia and Refugio Garcia.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 23, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM at Angel's Funeral Home in Port Lavaca, Texas. Continued visitation will take place Thursday, October 24 at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca, Texas, with the Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00 PM Burial will follow at Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Exiquio Maseda, Alex Arredondo Jr., Samuel Lozano Jr., Michael Venegas, Jose Valadez, and Ruben Perez. Honorary pallbearers are Alex Arredondo Sr., Javier Anguiano, Samuel Lozano, Robert Maseda, Polo Garcia, Beto Garcia, Refugio Mejia, Mario Perez, and Javier Perez.
