Maria Angela Martinez Benitez

Maria Angela Martinez Benitez, 69, of Scranton, passed away Thursday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She is the widow of the late Jose Vidal Mejia Barahona who passed May 24, 2023.
Born in Honduras she is the daughter of the late Constantino Martinez and Josefa Benitez. She worked as a baker at My Mother's Delicacies, Scranton.
Mami Vita, amante de las flores, mantenia inpecable su jardin, sin duda le gustaban las fiestas, sobre todo el baile, tambien gustosa de la buena comida, las tortillas de sus favoritas, disfrutaba mucho de los viajes.
Una excelente mujer en todos los ambitos, indispensable en el trabajo e irreplaceable en su casa, excellent madre, tia y amiga.
Surviving are six daughters Deisy, Yolany, Leticia, Carmen, Elana and Nora Martinez.
A viewing will be held Sunday from 4-7pm in the Corey Brian Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00am in the St. Paul of the Cross Parish, 1217 Prospect Ave., Scranton, PA 18505. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
