There will be a viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A Rosary will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM with a funeral service to follow directly after.
Born on October 11, 1950, to Viola Gantt and Manuel Hernandez, Maria D. Murillo brought warmth, creativity, and joy to all who knew her. She had a deep love for baking and sewing, often sharing her handmade creations and delicious treats with family and friends. Maria found comfort in cozy evenings spent watching movies and her favorite show, Criminal Minds. A proud supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, she never missed a chance to cheer them on. Maria's gentle nature and generous heart left a lasting impression. Her memory lives on in the laughter she sparked, the love she gave, and the simple moments she cherished most.
Those left to eternally cherish and treasure memories of Maria are her husband, Marcos Murillo of Roswell, NM; children: Jaqueline Murillo of Roswell NM, Blanca Murillo of Roswell NM, Maria Murillo of Oklahoma City, Felipe Moralez and wife Carmen of Roswell NM, and Benjamin and wife Nora Murillo; grandchildren: Yolanda Acosta and Husband Jose, Rubi Zepeda and Husband Luis, Isabel Moralez of Roswell NM, Esai Moralez of Roswell NM, Gianna Moralez of Roswell NM, Judith, Jocelyn Murillo of Oklahoma City; great-grandchildren: Vanessa Murillo, Belinda Murillo, Ana, Jose, Briza Acosta, Vair, Itzel, Abigail, Angel Zepeda, Nathan and Analeah Morgan, Chloe, Miklo, Alivio Moralez, Emillo, Joel Moralez, Maria, Alexa, Mateo Murillo; sisters: Jamie Mannings of Phoenix AZ and Joyce Gantt of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Ofelia Murillo and husband Alexandro; brother-in-law, Enrique Murillo; brother-in-law Ruben Murillo and wife Tina; sister-in-law Elena Murillo; and beloved pet, Daisy.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents: Viola Gantt and Manuel Hernandez; siblings: James Gantt and Mary Hope Horn; brother-in-law Beto Murillo; brother-in-law, Rosalio Murillo; sister-in-law, Guadalupe Murillo; aunt, Josie Medina.
Blessed to be chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are all her grandchildren.
Maria's tribute was lovingly written by her family.
