Maria is survived by her nine children; Petra Rodriguez, Cecilia Chivas, Irene Gonzalez, Simona Ortega, Carmen Blandon, Exiquia Ortega, Juan Ortega, Eulogio Ortega and Armando Ortega: 27 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Simona (Ontiveros) and Alejandro Nava, by her husband Eulogio Ortega and her brothers, Jose Pina, Angel Pina and Cesário Nava
Those honored to serve as Pallbearers are: Irving I. Lerma, Francisco Flores Jr., Oscar Blandon Jr., Isaac E. Leija, Christopher J. Flores and Andrew J. Zavala
