Mary Louise Mudd

Mary Louise Mudd, age 93 of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 28, 2026 at her home with her family by her side. Mary was born on January 30, 1933 in Galveston, Texas and was a longtime resident of Alvin. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin where she served as a member of the Altar Society, and was a part of the Catholic Daughters. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Mudd, parents, Mary and Alexander Shoomer, brother, Kenneth Shoomer, sister, Yvonne Hertogs, son Mark Mudd, and daughter-in-law Jean Mudd.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Karen Lyons and husband Lloyd, Kathy Raney, son Richard Mudd, grandchildren, Brian, Greg, Julio, Jamie, Bobby, Kyle, Jodie, Lauren, Tiffany, great-grandchildren, Taylor, Madelyn, Faith, Bella, Logan, Presley, Maddox, Melanie, Sophia, Julia, Lilly, Violet, Cole, great- great-grandchild, Lane, and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Scott Funeral Home from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 5, 2026 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin with interment will follow at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
