Maria Panza, a beacon of love, kindness and generosity, passed away peacefully under hospice care on August 17, 2025, after battling dementia. Born on May 12, 1934, in New York City, Maria's life was a tapestry of generosity and kind gestures that she shared with everyone around her. Her final days were spent in Clearwater, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family.
Maria's journey through life was marked by the joy she found in simple pleasures-her laughter was infectious, her smile was a comfort to all. She embodied the essence of motherhood and friendship in every aspect of her life. Her husband, Gerard Panza, stood by her side through 65 years of love and marriage. Together they built a legacy of love and family, a testament to their enduring bond.
She was the cherished mother of Maryella Ganzekaufer and Deborah Tormos, whose lives were shaped by Maria's unwavering support and guidance. Maria's role as a grandmother to Nicole and David Ganzekaufer and Shauna Kelley was filled with moments of joy, laughter, and kind acts of generosity. Her great-grandchildren, Sonja and Luca, brought a sparkle to her eyes and were the recipients of her endless affection.
Maria's life was a reflection of her heart-loving, kind, and generous. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and seen, her presence was a source of comfort to those fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness extended beyond her family, touching the lives of friends and strangers alike. Maria's generosity knew no bounds, and her spirit of giving will remain a guiding light for all who were touched by her grace.
As we remember Maria, we are reminded of her embodiment of the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Maria did countless small things for so many, each with great love, leaving an indelible mark on all of us.
Maria Panza's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by those who loved her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire and influence generations to come. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always celebrated. Maria's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived; one filled with love and selfless devotion to others. Rest in peace, dear Maria, your spirit lives on in the hearts of all those you have touched.
