Maria Isabel Perez Colon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Isabel Perez Colon, who left us on October 19, 2025. Born in the vibrant city of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on August 14, 1973, Maria Isabel was a radiant soul whose energy could light up any room.
Maria Isabel was a woman of many passions, and her zest for life was infectious. Despite never being formally employed, she was a firm believer in the words of Helen Keller: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." This belief was evident in her daily life. She loved to cook, pouring her heart and soul into every meal she prepared, making each one a feast for the senses. She was an avid gardener, tending to her plants with care as if they were her own children. She had an uncanny knack for making each blossom feel loved and cherished. She was also a music enthusiast, her love for salsa and merengue music evident in the rhythm of her every step.
Maria Isabel was a resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, where she lived with her partner, Jose Lopez, who survives her. She was a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt. She was preceded in death by her father, Raul Perez, and her mother, Julia Colon.
A viewing will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA., followed by her burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
