Maria del Socorro Pulgarin Born May 7, 1941, in Tuitán, Durango, Mexico - Passed on October 26, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Maria del Socorro Pulgarin was a woman of extraordinary resilience, love, and grace. Born in the heart of Durango, she carried the spirit of her homeland with pride and dignity. Her life was a testament to hard work and devotion; whether sorting cows under the blazing sun, crafting asaderos, & traditional Mexican dishes, or sewing quilts and tablecloths with care and skill.

Maria's journey led her to Albuquerque, where she reunited with her beloved husband, Alejandro Pulgarin, and continued to nurture her family with unwavering strength and warmth. She raised her children with discipline and deep affection, instilling values of perseverance, humility, and love. Her beautiful heart was always on display, matched only by her strong character and, on occasion, the swift and effective use of the chancla to lovingly correct Erik, Julia, and Gladys back on the ranch.

Once in Albuquerque, Maria lovingly passed down her culinary wisdom, teaching her daughter-in-law Monica and granddaughter Coco how to prepare traditional dishes for Lent season, a reflection of her deep faith and her commitment to preserving family traditions. Later on, her daughter Gladys lovingly took on the role of feeding and caring for the family, continuing Maria's legacy of nourishment and devotion.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alejandro Pulgarin; her devoted son, Erik Pulgarin; her cherished daughters, Julia and Gladys; her daughter-in-law, Monica; and her beloved granddaughter, Coco, plus many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maria's life was not defined by accolades but by the quiet, yet powerful and loving impact she had on her family and community. Her memory will forever be cherished.

Te amo, Mamá, por siempre. We will never forget you. Always in our hearts.
